Contour Roofing Limited
  • Jonathan, Woods

    Jonathan Woods

    Managing Director

I have worked for Contour Roofing since I was 15, starting part time as a Roofing Labourer while still studying at College I then joined the team full time in 1999 as a Roof Tiler/Slater.

In 2003 I was appointed as the companies Estimator and within this time very successful in securing many large projects whilst working with the MD and contracting team to help grow and take the business forward. It was within this period that I started the flat roofing arm of the business which within 10 years has become one the largest and quality assured installers of Single-Ply roofing membrane in the south east and in 2016 was recognised for this with winning the prestigious NFRC roofing award for best single-ply roof.

In October 2015 I was appointed as Managing Director. My directives for the business going forward are Safety, Quality and investment of apprentices which I am proud to say we have 5.

My personal interests include cross fit, running and of course spending time with my wife and three young children.

  • Lee, Clift

    Lee Clift

    Construction Director

From an early age I was exposed to the roofing world as my father was a roofer and ran his own roofing company.  I inevitably started my roofing career with him in 2007, where I spent 7 years as an operative laying both built up felt and single ply systems, my preferred being Single ply. In 2014 I joined Contour Roofing in an office based role, which has now developed into managing the production side of the business.

In my own time I enjoy watching Football, UFC & Boxing. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, from days at the races and the occasional Liverpool game when I am not playing myself.

When I get the chance, I try to travel a little to see other parts of the world as it’s always good for the soul.

At 34 I’m in the twilight years of my football career, to which I have now started taking golf lessons (ask me how I’m getting on in 6 month time).

  • Matt, Holt

    Matt Holt

    Commercial Manager

I went into Roofing straight from school doing 3 layer felt & asphalt with the biggest job I worked on being the cargo bay at Heathrow Airport. I moved into the office side of the business in 1999 where I worked myself up to Branch Manager for my previous employer. I have been at Contour Roofing for 6 years now and enjoy the banter & camaraderie we all have while still getting the job done which for me is the sign of a good team.

Outside of Roofing I have my 2 daughters & son who make me proud every day while for hobbies I play golf and support Liverpool FC which I have done since I was 6 years old. I am the reigning champion of Contour’s fantasy football league although contrary to many of my colleague’s comments, I don’t actually spend a lot of time on it!

I’m always listening to music with The Kinks, David Bowie, Oasis & The Beatles being amongst my favourites. I regularly go to live gigs with my girlfriend while we also enjoy eating out & visiting the cinema, theatre & comedy shows.

  • Joe, McCanna

    Joe McCanna

    Flat Roofing Contracts Manager

I started working with Contour Roofing in 2008 after a few years working within the building trade on other projects. I remember my first 10 days were just purely health and safety training before I was allowed to step foot on site, at one point I did wonder what I was getting myself in to. With me now booking training for guys in the position I was once in I feel I have the experience to explain why this is so important and will stand them in good stead for the future. I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to progress through the company and will hopefully continue to do so.

  • Paul, Dye

    Paul Dye

    Pitched Roofing Contracts Manager

I left school at 16 and after a year of studying at college I was given an opportunity to come and join the team at Contour Roofing. In the 4 years I spent learning the roofing trade I worked with a number of tilers so that I could give myself a better understanding of all roofing aspects., this prepared me for the next 13 years that I would spend as a tiler with my own gang.

During these years I would train a number of apprentices and what them progress into tilers which to date has been one of my great achievement’s at Contour.

I was recently given the opportunity to progress up the Contour ladder into a management role which is something I am already enjoying, the challenge of learn new skills is something that I find exciting.

Outside of work I am a big Spurs fan and a season ticket holder for my sins. When I am not watching football I spend as much time as possible with my family, I have two beautiful daughters that enjoy taking swimming and going on family bike rides.

  • Tom, Everett

    Tom Everett

    Pitched Roofing Estimator

I started my working life after studying Engineering at college. I had a number of different jobs within in the construction industry including Air conditioning installation, Partitioner and Telecoms engineer which I did for nearly 10 years working all over the UK. The last project I worked on was Terminal 5 at Heathrow airport. Due to working away from home and varied shift patterns I decided it was time for a change.

I began working at Contour Roofing in the summer of 2007 as a trainee estimator. My role within the company is predominately focused on the logging incoming enquiries, pricing the tender, negotiating  and securing contracts which can be anything from small house extensions to entire sites of houses and apartment blocks.

I enjoy problem solving and the different day to day challenges I am faced with. I also enjoy working with the network of suppliers and builders we work with, I always try to keep good communication in order to build relationships as I think this is key to successful business.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, cycling, going to the gym, going for walks, playing guitar and above all spending time with my family. I also like to travel as much as I can.

  • Scott, Paterson

    Scott Paterson

    Flat Roofing Estimator

After leaving college I took up a job as a football coach for Cambridge United Football Club, which also enabled me to go out and coach in America for 4 months.

Upon returning and due to lack of constant hours I decided to take up a job as a Labourer for a Flat roofing company learning mainly built up felt and Single ply systems but also gaining experience in Cold applied Liquid waterproofing.

After 10 years on the tools from the age of 19 to 29 I was offered an office based role as a Flat Roofing Estimator.

The job involves pricing, negotiating and securing contracts and although recently new to the job I feel my previous history of doing the on-site works should stand me in good stead.

In my spare time I enjoy almost all sports, and currently play football for Newmarket Town FC

  • Elliott , Whiston

    Elliott Whiston

    Contour Driver

I started working for Contour Roofing in 2012 and I love the job and am very much focused on giving my all day in day out. I always ensure that I have planned for my day well in advance as the one thing I dislike is to let people down as good customer service is key. My better half in life is of course my partner Sheri Anne and together we have a beautiful boy called Dylan who completely runs us ragged but I would not have it any another way. I enjoy running when not injured and listening to music whilst driving during the working day.

  • Anita, Whitbread

    Anita Whitbread

    Accounts Administrator

I left school and worked for a company which is now called Raytheon UK, I was part of a large Accounts team which I enjoyed and attended college once a week and passed my Btec in Accounting. I continued to work here for many years in several different departments but still within the Accounts.

I left Raytheon to start a family of which I now have a girl of 19 and a boy of 14, I still continued to work in various places as and when I could. Then when the children were old enough for me to go back into an office, Still Part time but fixed days, I worked for a partitioning company and I was taught Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts.

I left there and joined Contour Roofing (Essex) Ltd nearly 7 years ago in August 2009 and took over there Accounts. Although the company was male dominated I found no problem keeping them all in line. The company has probably nearly doubled in size since back then, however we continue to enjoy our jobs and keep the banter alive.

My hobbies include watching my daughter dance, my son play football, Walking the dog and a nice quiet read of an good autobiography.
