We would like to congratulate everyone at Contour Roofing (Essex) Limited on the achievement of receiving the Gold Award at the 2020 Health and Safety Roofing Awards.

The most challenging health risk in 2020 was and to this day still is Covid-19.  Although the business had to close its doors in March 2020 key people carried on working in the background to ensure the business was compliant and safe to open in May 2020.  The information I was receiving from the NFRC during this time was paramount in allowing me and my safety advisor in constructing the new Covid-19 risk assessment which had to be constantly revised, managed and then communicated to all staff and sub-contractors.

All staff received Covid-19 Training during the lockdown via Zoom from one of our training providers which prepared us all with better knowledge of how to tackle and approach the risks. I highly recommend this training which was passed onto me by one of our biggest customers.  All staff have the ability to work remotely and we have an excellent WhatsApp chat that manages any required visits into the offices.  All roofing operatives are close working approved and it is the job of all 4 contract managers to continue visiting site and carrying out tool box talks on various subjects like Covid-19, COSHH, working at heights, PPE etc.

It’s important that everyone comes home safely to there loved ones at the end of each working day and we are fully committed in continuing to educate and train our workforce #TheContourWay.
